Setup

The IMu Widget Framework can run on version 2.0 and above of the Apache Software Foundation's web server httpd.

httpd is the most commonly used web server on Linux and Unix server machines.

Note: The instructions below include some more specific information for certain commonly used systems.
If there is no specific information for the system on which you are installing, this does not mean that you cannot install. You will just need to consult more of the system documentation to work out how to install the required software.

Requirements

httpd

Apache's httpd server version 2.0 or later is required. Version 2.2 or above is preferred if available.

• CentOS 6:

  # yum install httpd

Note: Versions of httpd earlier than 2.0 are not suitable.

PHP

PHP 5.0 or later is required. PHP 5.3 or later is preferred if available. This is because PHP 5.3 automatically includes some of extensions which were optional in earlier version.

• CentOS 6:

  # yum install php

Note: PHP 4.0 is not supported.

DOM Extension for PHP

The PHP DOM extension is required to allow IMu to manipulate XML before returning it to the browser.

• CentOS 6:

  # yum install php-xml

The IMu Widget Framework can be run on Windows 2008 Server (Release 2) running Internet Information Server Version 7.5.

Requirements

IIS 7.5

IIS can be installed under Start>Administrative Tools>Server Manager:

1. Click Add Roles in the Server Manager console. The Add Roles Wizard will appear.
2. Click Next>.
3. Ensure the Web Server (IIS) checkbox is enabled and click Next>.
4. Click Next> again.
5. Under Application Development, ensure that CGI checkbox is enabled and click Next>.
6. Click Install.
7. After IIS has finished installing click Close to close the Add Roles Wizard and then close the Server Manager console.

PHP

PHP 5.3 or later is required:

1. Log in as local Administrator.
2. Go http://php.iis.net/ and click Install PHP. You will be asked to install Microsoft Web Platform Installer.
3. Click Install Now.
4. Save PHP53.exe and run the executable.
5. On the Web Platform Installer 3.0 console, on the lower left hand side click Items to be installed. This will open a new console.
6. Remove Microsoft SQL Driver v2.0 for PHP v5.3 in IIS by clicking the cross next to it and then click Close.
7. Click Install.
8. Click I Accept.
9. Wait until PHP finishes installing and click Finish.
10. Click Exit to close Web Platform Installer 3.0 console.

The IMu Widget Framework can be run on Windows 2003 Server running Internet Information Server (IIS) Version 6.

Requirements

IIS 6

IIS can be installed under Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs>Add/Remove Windows Components.

PHP

PHP 5.3 or later is required:

1. Download the VC9 x86 Non Thread Safe version of PHP.
2. Install into a directory such as C:\PHP\.
3. Copy the C:\PHP\php.ini-production to C:\PHP\php.ini
4. Open the php.ini, search for the following lines, uncomment them and make sure they look like these below:

   extension_dir="C:\PHP\ext"
   error_log="C:\inetpub\temp\php-errors.log"
   cgi.force_redirect = 0
   fastcgi.impersonate = 1
   cgi.fix_pathinfo=1
   extension=php_xsl.dll
   

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86)

1. Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86).
2. Run the downloaded .exe file.

FastCGI 1.5

1. Download FastCGI 1.5 for IIS, 32-bit.
2. Run the installation package and follow the standard process.
3. Start a cmd.exe window and enter the following commands:

   cd c:\Windows\System32\inetsrv
   cscript fcgiconfig.js -add -section:"PHP" -extension:php -path:"C:\PHP\php-cgi.exe"
   cscript fcgiconfig.js -set -section:"PHP" -InstanceMaxRequests:10000
   cscript fcgiconfig.js -set -section:"PHP" -EnvironmentVars:PHP_FCGI_MAX_REQUESTS:10000
