Tab switching

Tab switching is a technique in EMu that adjusts the tabs and fields displayed in a module according to choices that users make (and values entered in a field) as they work with a record.

As information is entered into certain fields the fields and tabs available will adjust automatically. An example of a Tab switching field is the Party Type: (Party Details) field in the Parties module. When creating a new record in the Parties module for instance, if Person is selected in the Party Type: (Party Details) field, the following tabs are available:

If Organization is selected however, a slightly different set of tabs display:

Tab switching can be applied in all Screen modes. It is possible for an Administrator to configure a module to display different tabs for each mode. For example, a user may be set up to view only a couple of tabs when in Search mode but to view all tabs when in Display or New mode.

Note: Each institution can specify Tab switching fields and the values that will determine the tabs and fields that display.
