Other Search functions
The Also Search function is configured by the
See Also Search Registry entry for details about configuring an Also Search.
How to disable an Also Search
To disable the Also Search facility, precede a search term (or list of search terms) with a percent (%
) sign.
For example, an Also Search could be specified in the Parties module so that searching the Summary Data field will also search the Other Names field. A search for smith
in the Summary Data field will then also search the Other Names field for smith
. If %Smith
is entered in the Summary Data field, only the Summary Data field will be searched.
The Show Attach Search function displays the TexQL Query Statement of a search that will run in an attached module:
- Enter a search term in an attachment field and leave the cursor in the field:
- Select File>Show Attach Search from the Menu bar to display the Edit Search box with the TexQL Query Statement:
- Edit the code as required.
- Click OK.
The search is run.

This option displays TexQL details for a search of fields in the current module only.
When a search includes values in an attachment fieldA field in a module that can be linked (attached) to a record in the same or another module. When an attachment has been made, the target record's Summary Data displays in the attachment field. both the local field and the attachment module are searched; if Show Search is selected however, only the TexQL for the local field is displayed.
Furthermore Show Search does not display details for any Also Search values.

If a search includes values in an attachment field this option first displays TexQL details for a search of the attachment module and then (once the OK button is selected) displays details for a search of fields in the current module.
The Show All Search option will also display details for any Also Search values associated with fields in your search.
The Edit Search box displays:
- Edit the code as required.
- Click OK.
Note: If a search includes values in an attachment field and you select Show All Searches, the Edit Search box first displays details for a search of any attachment modules and then, when OK is selected, displays details for a search of fields in the current module. Repeat Steps 2 and 3.
