Regional Format Registry entry

Configure EMu to use the decimal separator specified in a user's Windows regional settings.

With this Registry entry it is possible to configure EMu to recognise the digital separator specified in a user's Windows regional format settings. By enabling this functionality it is possible to search for, enter and display float or currency column values using the decimal separator character specified in a user's Windows regional format settings (a comma for French language systems, for instance: $1900,00).

This entry can be specified for individual columns, all columns in a module, or all columns across EMu.

where:

column or Default

is a back-end column name; or use Default for all columns in the specified table(s).

boolean

is true (the decimal separator specified in a user's Windows regional format settings is recognised by EMu) or false (the decimal separator specified in a user's Windows regional format settings is not recognised by EMu).

Note: In the absence of this Registry entry, a value of false is assumed.

In Windows 10 a user's regional format settings are specified in: Windows Settings>Time & Language>Region>Regional format:

In this example, the regional format specified is English (Australia).

Each regional format has a decimal separator specified by default, a comma for French (France) for example.

It is possible to change the default decimal separator in Windows for each regional format by selecting Control Panel>Region>Additional Settings and specifying a Decimal symbol:

When this Registry entry is specified, the decimal separator symbol used in EMu is determined by the Data language selected:

The user's current Regional format.

In this example, the decimal separator used will be that specified for English (Australia):

English

A user's Regional format if it is an English speaking region, otherwise English (United Kingdom).

English (US)

The decimal separator used will be that specified for English (United States).

French

The decimal separator used will be that specified for French (France).

French (CA)

The decimal separator used will be that specified for French (Canada).

Arabic

The decimal separator used will be that specified for Arabic (Saudi Arabia).

Note: Irrespective of the decimal symbol specified in the Windows Settings the full stop character can always be used for searching for or entering the decimal portion of a float or currency value.

This entry specifies that EMu recognises the digital separator specified in the Windows Regional format settings for all columns in all modules and for all users:
