Gazetteer module

The Gazetteer module holds geographical location information. The Gazetteer module can be loaded with one or more existing gazetteers that are relevant to the institution. It is a reference source only and no actual links are made between it and other EMu modules.

A Gazetteer record includes:

Geographic or political place names
Type of place (e.g. lagoon, ford, homestead)
Latitude/Longitude and UTM

Typical Gazetteer tabs and their purpose

Tab	Description
Gazetteer	Holds location details, including: Ocean Continent Country Province/State/Territory District/County/Shire City/Town Place name Latitude and Longitude
Other Names	Used to record alternate names for the location details specified on the Gazetteer tab.
Associations	Links to associated records in the Gazetteer module.
