How to create a report
The examples in this documentation are taken from the Axiell training course: EMu Reports Training. Contact your regional Axiell Office for details about attending the training course.
Reports in this documentation were produced using:
- Crystal Reports XI
- Microsoft Word 2002
- Microsoft Excel 2013
Note: Even if your version of this software differs from that used, the broad principles and approach adopted here remain the same. Note however that the Visual Basic code used to produce a report in Microsoft Word or Excel will differ slightly from one version of Microsoft Word or Excel to another.
- A Developer Edition of Crystal Reports Designer is required in order to create an ADO Crystal Report or convert a Crystal report to use ADO rather than ODBC. When installing or modifying Crystal Reports Designer, be sure to install ADO.NET as a Data Access option:
This EMu documentation aims to show you how to prepare your data in EMu for reporting and then demonstrates how to produce a report within Crystal Reports, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word: it is not possible in this context to train how to use these third party applications (or, for that matter, how to write Visual Basic code) and for that reason we highly recommend that those looking to produce advanced reports have experience or seek training in these tools and methods.
Note: Details about Reporting in a multi-language environment can be found here.
