Images | Default Registry entry
Specify the maximum size of images to display to a user by default. Size is either file size in kilobytes or width and height in pixels.
Note: This Registry entry replaces the now defunct Launch Viewer Registry entry.
When a user views an image in EMu, the image is drawn down from the multimedia repository and displayed in whatever viewer is associated with that image's file type. There can be multiple versions of an image with differing resolutions, some potentially very large.
This entry determines which version of an image is viewed by default by specifying the maximum size of the image to display. The version of an image closest to, but not exceeding, the size specified in this entry will display by default.
Note: In the absence of this Registry entry, the original image added to the Multimedia module (the first file listed in the Resolutions table on the Resolutions tab) is displayed by default.
When this entry is specified, the default image is displayed when a user clicks the View button (on the Multimedia tab of the Ribbon in the Multimedia module), and the image that displays on the Multimedia tab is the default image specified by the Images|Default Registry entry.
Note: The Images|Default Registry entry does not restrict a user / group from accessing larger images, it only determines which image is displayed by default as described above. Users will continue to have access to all available resolutions on the Resolutions tab of the Multimedia module and using the View option in the Multimedia module. The Maximum Registry entry can be used to restrict access to all media (not just images) based on size.
